ChatGPT arrives in Microsoft Word across all plans
OpenAI has added ChatGPT to Microsoft Word, extending its Office integration beyond Excel and PowerPoint and putting document drafting and revision directly inside Word.
What changed
OpenAI says ChatGPT is now available in Microsoft Word through the same Microsoft add-in used for its other Office integrations. From the Word sidebar, users can draft from notes, summarize documents, revise selected text, and adjust headings and formatting.
The Word integration is available across ChatGPT plans, including Free. OpenAI says plan limits still apply, and usage can draw from shared allowances for premium features on plans where those limits are shared.

For buyers comparing AI writing tools, the important change is workflow placement. ChatGPT can now operate where many business documents are already created rather than requiring users to move text between a browser assistant and Word.
